Composting on the Spot

Standard

kompostNo need for a compost bin or even a compost pile to produce compost. You can simply compost on the spot by digging a hole in the garden, placing green waste inside, then covering it up (this is often called “pit composting”). You can even simply dump garden wastes directly on top of your garden’s mulch, perhaps between or behind plants so it won’t be so visible. Some wastes decompose more quickly than others, especially those that are chopped up finely, but eventually earthworms and soil microorganisms will decompose any organic material.

Sometimes life is sooooo simple!
